Becoming a Professing Member of Asbury

Anyone, regardless of church membership status, can come to Asbury and participate in any ministry the church offers including worship, missions, music, children, youth, and small groups.

We invite you to prayerfully consider becoming a professing member of Asbury and to take the vows of the church that puts you into a covenant relationship with God and fellow believers. The vows of prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness, along with the power of the Holy Spirit, bind us together in Christian love as a household of faith. In preparation to take these sacred and holy vows, we offer the "What Does It Mean To Be United Methodist?" course. This course will help you understand your identity in Christ, your role in the church, and the expectations that God places on you in areas such as spiritual growth, financial stewardship and an involved life in the community of faith.

The process of membership includes the following required elements:
  • Participation in "What Does It Mean To Be United Methodist?"
  • Attendance at a new member luncheon or dinner
  • Setting a date for celebration of church membership
We place a high value on making and keeping promises within the Body of Christ.   If you believe that Asbury is the church God is leading you to, then you are invited to enter into the membership process. For more information about "What Does It Mean To Be United Methodist?" click here.
