DISCIPLE 2: Into the Word, Into the World
(Genesis – Exodus & Luke – Acts)
Led by Leigh & Bob Noel
Sunday evening, 5:30 – 7:30 PM, Room 112
Begins on August 28th
Cost of the workbook is $40.00
This study (32 sessions) goes deeper into four books of the Bible. Genesis and Exodus are the foundations of the Old Testament and play a distinctive role in Torah teaching. The Gospel of Luke and The Acts of The Apostles tells the story of the Christian faith. The teachings and life of Jesus in the Gospel of Luke proves the background for the movement of the Holy Spirit in The Acts of the Apostles and the story of the early church. This study encourages persons to open themselves to hearing what God has to say to them through the Bible and to be guided into service in the world.

*Both Disciple classes will follow the Sunday evening schedule for children and youth ministries.  In addition there will be child care for infants through 4 yr olds and programs for children and youth. .

New to Disciple?

Have you ever wished you really knew a lot more about the Bible??

Have you ever felt like the Bible is one huge, complex jig-saw puzzle??

Finding even the corner pieces to this puzzle can be confusing.

So try a DISCIPLE Bible Study. DISCIPLE was developed by the United Methodist Church to provide transformation, not just information.

DISCIPLE Bible Study is a structured, in-depth study that covers some 85% of the Bible in 1½ hour weekly sessions that uses readings, DVD presentation, small group discussions and reflections. By focusing on the central themes of the Bible, Becoming Disciples through Bible Study emphasizes wholeness of the Bible as a revelation of God. It draws on the work of pastors, seminary professors, and scholars to aid in Biblical understanding. Its purpose is to help us become better learners, believers, followers and servants.

Besides Becoming Disciples through Bible Study, you can take several other specific studies such as Genesis/Exodus, Luke/Acts, The Prophets, Paul, The Writings, John/Revelation, and Jesus in the Gospels.

If you have questions or are interested in facilitating a new DISCIPLE Class contact Rev. Greg Foust at [hide_email gfoust@asburyonline.org] or 271-9903.

If you continue in my word, you are truly my disciples. You will know the truth and the truth will set you free. – John 8:31-32
